Committee's Aim / Responsibilities: The Committee ensures that Responsible Business is integrated into the banking functions and into the strategic priorities of the Bank, also systematically ensures that Garanti puts stakeholders at the center of the decision-making.

The Committee's responsibilities are as below;

• Monitoring, provide guidance on, and make decisions regarding the Bank’s efforts to offer products and services that support sustainable development and are aligned with sustainability-related opportunities,
• Ensuring that all decisions taken and projects carried out within the scope of the sustainability and climate change strategy are aligned with the Bank’s other policies and relevant regulations,
• Monitoring the Bank’s sustainability and climate change–related targets and, when necessary, to update and approve them,
• Monitoring the assessment processes evaluating the impact of all climate change and sustainability-related risks, opportunities, and impacts on the Bank’s strategy, products, and operations,
• Within the framework of the global target set out in the Community Investment Plans, to assess the contribution generated through community investment programs, to be informed about new community investments, and to evaluate them in terms of sustainability-related risks and opportunities

Sustainability responsibilites:

• Overseeing and make decisions regarding the current and potential future risks, opportunities, and impacts of the Bank’s activities and products in relation to sustainability and climate change.
• To ensure that the Bank’s activities are aligned with the Environmental and Social Credit Standards (ESCS) and to oversee the integration of the principles defined within this framework into investment decisions
• Monitoring comprehensive assessments conducted in the areas of sustainability and climate change in relation to banking activities, and to oversee efforts aimed at managing risks that could adversely affect the Bank’s reputation ,
• Supporting the development and implementation of sustainability- and climate-related scenario analysis studies and the transition plan in alignment with the business strategy, and to provide guidance within the scope of its competencies  ,
• To monitoring the Bank’s sustainability- and climate change-related initiatives and commitments, track progress, be informed about new initiatives, and provide approval when necessary, ,
• Regularly informing the Board of Directors about the Bank’s sustainability and climate change activities,
• Following the development of policies, standards, procedures, and similar documents in line with sustainability principles, and to ensure that these documents guide the Bank’s activities,
• Monitoring sustainability- and climate-related reporting, audit, and verification processes, and promoting transparency and accountability toward stakeholders and the public in such reporting

Committee History: Established on February 2017. Merged with Sustainability Committee in January 2020.

Meeting Frequency: The Committee meets two times a year.

Number of Meetings (2025): 2 meetings were conducted. (February, August)

Number of Meetings (2026): 2 meetings were planned. Meetings have been scheduled for the second and fourth quarters.
