Our Commitment & Progress
Garanti BBVA continues its sustainability efforts uninterruptedly with the aim of leaving a healthier world for our future. In line with our climate crisis and inclusive growth priorities, we continue to pursue our decarbonization targets in line with the Paris Agreement Capital Transition Assessment (PACTA) methodology. As the first bank in Turkey to announce that it will not finance coal power plants and coal mines, we have committed to minimizing the risks in our current coal portfolio by 2030 and to completely exit this sector by 2040 at the latest. In addition, as Garanti BBVA, we aim to contribute TL 400 billion to our main shareholder BBVA’s sustainable mobilization target of €300 billion by 2025. We have contributed TL 291 billion to this target since 2018.
